RAW DATA SCORES FOR ASSESSMENTS & ASSIGNMENTS: Check your student's Learner Portfolio (in their binder), as well as Synergy StudentVUE or Parent VUE. Note that data will probably not start showing up until later September.
CURRENT LETTER GRADE: Because of the way this course works, scores / data are entered in Synergy and marked as "Not for Grading." Therefore, Synergy does not automatically calculate a letter grade. Students consult their Learner Portfolio and the raw data of their performance and then propose a quarter / semester grade based on the evidence in their portfolio. Thus, the data is available all along in Synergy, but a grade does not show up on Synergy until the student and teacher agree on that grade at the end of each quarter. This is explained in significant detail in the Course Syllabus (PDF copy available on this page, in the left column). The Syllabus species the conditions students must meet to be able to justify an A or a B in the course. If you have any questions about this, contact me. HOMEWORK CALENDAR: Check the web page on this site (or on our merged Bonica-Hausman Psychology site) for the current unit and scroll down to the most recent assignments for due date information. NOTE: Students will not have homework every night in this class. The main homework will involve studying for quizzes and tests (sometimes using Quizlet) and, occasionally, practice short answer questions (SAQs) and extended written responses (EWRs). We do not check out textbooks for students to take home. We use a wide variety of resources to teach the class. |
